Adding Pages
It's easy to create new pages and add them to your web. Open a sample
page or another page you have created and select "save as" and
rename it. The new page should have the layout intact. Change the content
or graphics inside the new page.
Graphics
All the Fireworks editable PNG files used to create this template are included. They can be found in the
PNGs folder. If you wish, you may move the PNGs folder to another location
on your hard drive because the files within it are not a part of the
website. Removing them will make the file size of your website
considerably smaller.
Blank button graphics are provided for seven different colored JavaScript rollover buttons. If more buttons are needed, the colors can be repeated, or, with the Fireworks editable .png files, new colors can be created.
Blank company name and box tab graphics are also included.
Seven different colored bullets with both colored and white backgrounds are included. Note also the navigation dividers at the bottom of the page.
The font used on the buttons and box tabs was Verdana, commonly found on Windows operating systems. A slight drop shadow was added. The fonts used in the company name graphic were Calligraph421 BT with a slight drop shadow and Arial Narrow.
We are available to modify graphics for a nominal fee. Please for details.
Optional Swish movies are included on the Home and Bonus pages. Swish 2.01 or higher is needed to modify the movies. It can be found at
http://www.swishzone.com/.
Include Files
Note that some elements that occur on all pages of this site exist as
include pages. You can find these include pages in the
"includes" folder of this web.
The include pages are inserted into the main pages in order to allow
you to make global changes to your site or change many pages at the same
time. To do this you must right click on the area you would like to edit.
If it is indeed an include page you will see something like this in the
pop up menu:
Open file: c:\ location
and name of include page
Or - you can open the include pages via folders view. Once the file is
open - make the necessary changes and save them. All pages utilizing the
include page should update upon saving.
The include pages used in this template are the company
name graphic area, boxes, and left navigation.
If you have a large site you may wish to make the footer
area an include page for easier modification.
Navigation
The JavaScript rollover effect was created outside FrontPage.
Instructions for modifying and adding buttons can be found in the
buttons.txt file.
All other navigation is text formatted with CSS (Cascading Style
Sheet).
Template Top
The white space above the colored bar at the top of the page can remain
as is or you can move your company name and logo should you prefer it in
that location. Another alternative for that spot--an advertising banner.
Right Column Boxes
The boxes in the right column are available for a variety of uses. They
are a fixed-width of 155 pixels but can be made wider by changing the size
of the clear_dot.gif in the center white column. Below is an example:
Cascading Style Sheets
In folders view, double-click on organized.css. This will open the CSS
page. The code governing the links in the header and in the body will be
found there.
a.top:link
controls the navigation bar at the top of the page under the tabs.
a.left:link controls the navigation bar in the left column.
a:link controls the
body links.
To change the color of the links - simply make changes to the html
color coding such as #ffffff or #336699. Find the HTML color code for the
color of your choice and insert the number in place of the existing one.
If you wish to remove the Cascading Style Sheet properties...simply
remove the code calling the sheet in the head section of the include pages
as well as any code associated with it in the body of the include pages
such as <LINK REL=STYLESHEET
TYPE="text/css" HREF="organized.css"> </head>
and class="left"
