DESIGN TIP #2
THE CREATIVE PROCESS
Below is a list of suggestions
to help get your creative juices flowing: |
- 1. Subscribe to design periodicals:
Print, Communication Arts, etc.
- 2. Look at different kinds
of publications: magazines, books, newspapers and newsletters.
3. Establish a library of books on graphic design.
4. Keep a reference file of design solutions you like in ads,
newsletters, brochures, and logos. Look carefully at these designs
and try to figure out what you like about them. Sensitize yourself
to what you think is good and bad in these designs, and try to
figure out why.
5. Spend some time at the library. Look at both old books and
new.
6. Look at everything around you.
-
- As the ideas begin to flow,
be playful and experiment at your computer or drawing board.
Even if some of your ideas seem outrageous at first, try to follow
through with them. Experiment! Don't be afraid to take a risk!
