DESIGN TIP #4
THE FOUR STEPS TO CREATING A SUCCESSFUL PUBLICATION:

1. Careful planning:
Plan your printed piece or web site before you begin to design. Get all the materials together that you plan to include--text and illustrations before you begin the design process.

2. Consistency:
Establishing and maintaining a consistency throughout your printed piece is essential to the success of your design.

3. Guiding the reader:
A successful design will guide the reader through a page by emphasizing the important elements on the page.
This is done by organizing information, both visual and verbal, in a hierarchy.

4. Attention to detail:
Before sending a mechanical to the printer, the final piece should be checked, re-checked, and checked again for errors in spelling, inconsistencies and typesetting details.
